Miss Clark: Week 24
How I feel Physically: I have had good days and bad days. One really bad day, and the rest were medium. I actually went to a massage therapist this week (this was one of Logan's Mothers Day gifts to me), and she was really helpful and gave me a lot of great information and made me feel so much better about what is going on with my ribs. Come to find out, it wasn't just normal pregnancy pain, I have been dealing with really aggrevated nerve pain with has caused numbing and very bad pain. My ribs were very "hard" and don't move how they should, which has been made worse since they should be expanding during pregnancy and are kind of locked into place by my tight fascia. The therapist was great and worked to release the fascia for over an hour and gave me some good exercises to do at home. I have still be dealing with quite a but of pain, but I think most of it is residual nerve pain. I will be going back to her multiple times during the rest of this pregnancy. P.S. I had a lot of rib problems for the last 4 years or so, it has just become much worse since I have become pregnant.
How I feel Mentally: I feel mentally good! I feel so motivated around the house and in my work. It is really fun to do projects and for Logan and I to work on our home together and get things prepared for Clarke to be here! We are just having fun enjoying our last months before we become parents! I feel strong and I feel very determined to get certain things done, I feel like my nesting instincts are going into hyper drive way earlier than they should! haha Oh yeah, and I am definitely to the point where I cannot watch any videos about dogs or kids anymore. I would adopt every single one. A homeless dog or baby will put me into a depression for the rest of the day...so I pretty much have to boycott Facebook because that's pretty much all people post.
Happy of the Week: Taking the puppies to the Walk and Wag to benefit the Humane Society where Zoey was adopted. Logan and Zo got 3rd place dog in the 5K! Which was really cute, while Mia and I cheered on from the side lines. Momma doesn't enjoy running while pregnant... Also, lets talk about the fact that our garden and our house plants are one of the happiest things right now! I LOVE that we are growing herbs and food and that there is so much green everywhere! I built a shelf for the house plants and we re-potted them all to match the stuff we have decorated our living room with!
CRAVINGS: Nothing too out of the ordinary. Im all about a cookie on the weekend, but I have been doing pretty dang good as far as cravings go!
Things for Clarke: My cute momma is making me homemade burp clothes and dish rags for Clarke! I am so excited!!! It just makes me smile to use things that people I love make and spend time on. I am just always feeling extra emotional these days!
Favorite Dinner: I really meant to take some pictures of our dinners this week...big ole fail on my part. Anyway, I would say my favorite dinner this week was actually a lunch I had at a restaurant in Ann Arbor called The Juicy Kitchen. It is mostly vegan and vegetarian with tons of healthy options. We went after the Walk and Wag with our other favorite dog parents (Kyle and Beth and Monty the Golden Doodle). The food is so dang good! I had a power bowl, which had quinoa, sweet potato, kale, caramelized onion, a little guac, and an over medium egg. All of the ingredients are warmed to perfection and it is the perfect mix of earthy flavors. I am literally going to make a version for Logan and I this week for dinner! We also went to a Cuban restaurant and had some great food! I am a big fan of plantains and had a yummy appetizer there! It was a good food week, but even better company.
Workouts: I honestly feel like every week is a new week and I am excited to take on the new challenges I will be facing. This week I have been taking my fitbit steps more seriously and been really motivated to get my 10,000 steps in each day! I feel like just making simple goals for myself is really good and helpful for my mind set. I am already so excited about all of the fun ways I am going to exercise post pregnancy and day dream about living that intense exercise life again! haha But for now, she can bake and enjoy being housed in my belly!
Monday: I did a Labor Bootcamp workout I found on pinterest and it made me sore the next day! This was the workout: 50 squats, 50 sec wall sit, 50 walking lunges, 15 tricep dips, 15 modified pushups. Round 2: 40 squats, 40 sec wall sit, 40 walking lunges, 15 tricep dips, 15 modified pushups. Round 3: 30 squats, 30 sec wall sit, 30 walking lunges, 15 tricep dips, 15 modified pushups.
Tuesday: 60 min walk on the treadmill at 6AM
Wednesday: 35 min walk in the AM with the puppies and the baby daddy along with 70 minute massage therapy session.
Thursday: 50 min treadmill walk, 25 min stretching/yoga, 10 min abs in the AM. Then I taught a workout class and did most of the class with them, so I got my circuits in and then in the evening I went on a 25 minute walk with Mia before dinner.
Friday: OFF day
Saturday: No official workout, was just really active and walked a lot throughout the morning and early afternoon when we took the puppies to the walk and wag.
Sunday: Just went on a 30 min walk with the baby daddy and the puppies before youth group. I planned on doing a circuit, but I had a really bad day as far as my ribs were concerned and was struggling more than usual with my pain. So, I opted out for the day. We spent a lot of the day sitting and sitting for long periods of time makes it much worse for me, so I try to avoid that as much as possible.
Thoughts for the Week: I felt great on certain days and bad on others. I was proud of my workouts in the beginning of the week because I was really pushing myself to be active and aware of my body moving all throughout the day. I guess I can't expect for every day to be good, but I am thankful for the ones that are.
Weight Gain: I weighted myself on 24+6 (so pretty much at 25 weeks) and I have gained between 14 and 15 lbs total. Which is completely healthy and on track (at least from what I have read).
